Can we really do "business as usual" in a world in which half of our fellow beings suffer from Man-made causes?"
~Raimon Panikkar, Ph.D.*

As my proposed dissertation will discuss, there is a need for a radical renovation of our modern mythos (values, beliefs, held truths, imaginal focus). It will outline, defend, and contemplate the re-igniting of a participatory mythos of inter-relational connection between earth, all its inhabitants, and the enveloping cosmos.

Such a shift is not intended as a turning back nor as a bona fide fix-it-all solution, but as an opportune and significant potential for a much-needed generative transformation in these exponentially growing troubled times.

*Raimon Panikkar (1918-2010) was a Spanish Catholic priest of Catalonian and Hindu Indian descent who was an advocate of interfaith dialog and a scholar of comparative religion. He was a gifted and rare individual who held doctorates in philosophy, chemistry, and theology and could converse easily across all three traditions. He experienced reality as a non-religious trinitarian weave of “cosmic matter, human consciousness, and divine presence” (i.e., cosmotheandric) that is creative, generative, rhythmic in nature, and deeply steeped in the sacredness of the every day.
