 What You'll Learn: Historical and Philosophical Context. The I Ching which heavily influenced the formation of Chinese Medicine was a product of the Shang, Zhou, and Han dynasties. Exploring the forces behind the I Ching's emergence, Chinese Medicine's shamanic, divinatory, and alchemical roots are also revealed. Treatment Techniques. The Zhou, Qin, and Han dynasty masters have much to tell us about healing techniques—many of which are highly relevant for our practices today. They open us to the mind-body-spirit dimension of Chinese medicine, and to a deeper level of healing. New 'Thinking/Being' States. Through the gaze of Jean Gebser, philosopher of consciousness, we learn about the magical and mythical states of ancient times.
